I enjoy baking and sometimes I'm asked to bake the cake for family parties. My go-to icing/decoration style is a "naked cake." You really can't screw up a naked cake. Lol! However, it's been a crazy few weeks with event prepping and meetings that I did not have time to go shopping for ingredients and bake a cake. So I did what I normally do when in a crunch. I mean raise your emoji hand if you've been in my shoes? I'm glad to share my birthday cake hack with you! The best part about it is that it only cost about $25 and took only 15 minutes to put together.
This is what you'll need:
- Cake, already iced.
- Fun themed stickers
- Letter Stickers
- Fruit Skewers
- Tiny Garland
- Tape
- Confetti Sprinkles!
I stopped by our local Tom Thumb grocery store and picked an already iced raspberry dinner cake. The ladies behind the counter were super nice and added the pink, white, and purple icing for me. (I wish I would've taken a before pic.)
Made another quick stop at the craft store and picked up some unicorn stickers (Avery's Party theme) along with a few more items.
I placed the Unicorn stickers on skewers and secured them with tape. The mini-heart garland was already on thread and matched the cake perfectly so I slapped on some glittery letters and tied it to the skewers. Cut them all to size.
I love confetti in all forms! So after placing all the decorations on the cake, I topped it off with pastel colored sprinkle confetti. I was so happy with the final result and the low cost! I hope this hack helps you create a cute, fun cake for your next celebration.
